Big White has 2,765 acres of skiable terrain making it suitable for beginner, intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders. Famous for their ski school facilities, Big White is a wonderful place to learn to ski or snowboard, no matter your age! Literally hundreds of qualified ski instructors base themselves on the mountain each year, so the quality and standard of lessons is very high. Across its 16 lifts, Big White has the capacity to lift over 28,000 skiers per hour, far more than can sleep in the village, so you can get used to having plenty of space to yourself on the slopes! Big White is also a popular mountain for cross country skiing, so if you haven’t tried it, this is a great place to experience your first time.

Big White offers on mountain activities for the entire family! When you’re not riding the lifts and hitting the mountain, round out your Canadian winter experience with snowshoeing, tubing, fat biking, snowmobiling and ice skating, which are all available from the village. Incredibly, access to the Big White ice rink is free, just rent your skates and hockey gear from the lodge and hit the ice!
There are also some more unique activities which are not available at every ski resort, try Dog sledding and Horse drawn sleigh rides. Big White’s unique ice climbing tower is another must-do, with no experience necessary all fitness levels and ages can try the beginner to advanced climbs. Après-ski is an important part of any snow holiday, Big White is home to a few awesome spots to wind down, or up after a day skiing. Start your après enjoying the afternoon sun at The Woods, this European style chalet is in the middle of the village with excellent food, drinks and warm fire pits.
An institution, Snowshoe Sam’s is a great place to kick off the après drinks, then enjoy a meal, bands and DJs into the night.
Sessions is the favourite party place on the mountain, with live music, DJs, parties and events scheduled throughout each season. No matter the theme, you’re bound to have a fun night at Sessions.
Big White village is small compared to some other Canadian ski villages, but there is no shortage of excellent dining options in this quaint ski town. Let start with 6 Degrees Bistro, a fireside fine dining with a wine list sourced entirely from the local Okanagan wine region. Anyone who is looking for an upscale dinner experience will love this spot.
Meat-eaters with enjoy Black Diamond Bar and Grill, a steak and seafood restaurant located in the heart of the village. Fill up on a delicious meal by the fireplace, and but leave room for the apple pie! Another Canadian style steakhouse is Gunbarrel Grill, get a hearty meal, accompanied by a famous Gunbarrel Coffee
