Falls Creek Resort Information
Falls Creek features a massive 450 hectares of skiable terrain - that's the largest of any resort in Victoria. With roughly 90 runs accessed by 14 lifts, there is something to suit everybody's ability.There is plenty to choose from off the slopes too, with a variety of snow play activities and events hosted weekly for you to enjoy!
During the snow season it is a legal requirement that all vehicles entering the resort carry snow chains. This includes AWD and 4WD vehicles and applies from the season opening to the last day of the season.

Resort Entry Fees
Winter Peak Rates - June Long Weekend to first Sunday of October
Throughout the declared snow season you must pay a resort entry fee to access Falls Creek. All vehicles entering the resorts must display a valid entry pass. $52.50* per vehicle per day.
Overnight Car Parks: Vehicles staying overnight (or for a number of days) must be parked in specified overnight parking areas. Visitors must drive to the Accommodation Transfer Terminal and look for signage indicating "Overnight Parking Here".
Once vehicles are at the overnight parking waiting point, a member of staff will direct you to an available overnight car park. Self-parking is not permitted.
On arrival please proceed to your accommodation check-in point, which is noted on the property description. Please note your accommodation's check-in time. Early arrivals cannot be guaranteed and if arriving early or after hours we strongly recommend you call ahead. Security bonds may apply, please refer to the property description.
What To Pack:
The average temperature in Australia over winter is -4°C, therefore it is imperative that you pack a number of layers to stay warm during your stay.
Layers. Start with a tight-fitting, breathable, non-cotton under-layer, then build outward with sweatpants, a light sweater or sweatshirt, and top it all off with a fleece that can be worn under an outer waterproof shell.
Lots of socks. Mix in some wool hikers along with your ski socks for the times you just want to walk around the resort. (Hot tip: Never wear two pairs of socks in your Ski boots / Snowboard boots. Your feet sweat, the moisture freezes and resulting in cold feet. If you’re suffering from icy toes, try a little talcum powder inside your socks instead)
Snow boots and sneakers.
Waterproof or water-resistant snow pants and jackets.
Eye protection. Don't overlook protecting your eyes from the sun, snow-glare and the elements. Goggles and sunglasses are a must for the entire family.
Sunscreen and lip balm. The Sun reflects off the snow this effect combined with the altitude means you'll definitely need to slather everyone in SPF 50 before enjoying time outdoors
Waterproof mittens or gloves, glove liners, hats and neck gators or scarves. On snow days you'll definitely want a way to cover your entire face while skiing or riding down the mountain!
Hat Especially for the more fashion-conscious teenagers traveling with you, helmet-hair can be easily disguised with a beanie during lunch and après ski.
A small backpack that can be left in a slope-side locker during the day, or that one member of the family can wear on the mountain to hold a bottle of water, sunscreen and other daily must-haves.
Bathing Suit: A must for the Après hot tub
A Youth I.D. Card for each of your children. In case your child zigs when you zag at a trail merge, we encourage you to fill out an I.D. card, stuff it in their jacket pocket, and instruct your child to present the card to any Resort employee if they become separated from you at any point during your stay.
Two ground operators offer transfers from Melbourne to Falls Creek (return), operating daily services over the majority of the season. Pick-ups are available from Tullamarine Airport and Southern Cross Station. Scheculed transfers are also available from Albury on select days of the week. It takes approximately 5-6hrs drive to reach Falls Creek from Melbourne, with late transfer departures to/from Falls Creek only available certain days. It is very important to ensure flights will match scheduled transfer services, or you can consider over-nighting in Melbourne if flight times are not suitable.
If self-driving, be aware of the road conditions common over the winter season and the times of day you will driving, roads can become treacherous in the cold evenings. Non-4WD vehicles entering the National Park are required to carry snow chains. This can be hired from a handful of shops as you approach Falls Creek, and are inculded in our hire vehicles from Melbourne.
As Falls Creek is located in the Alpine National Park, visitors are required to pay Park Entry fees. These are included in certain bus transfer prices, but must be paid additionally if driving. This can be purchased online or upon entry to the resort. The manned entry point to the resort only has staff to transact entry permits during certain hours. Keep this in mind if arriving late at night.
Between June 27 and September 9 the village is closed to vehicles, creating a unique 100% ski-in, ski-out environment. During these times the Accommodation Transfer Service (or ATS) is in operation to transport you and your luggage to and from your accommodation on arrival and departure. Service can be pre-purchase online or purchase at the ATS terminal. (Adult return $41*).
Every day of the declared season dedicated shuttle services operate within the village and along the Bogong High Plains Road. These shuttles are free to use with designated stops for pick up and drop off but no luggage is permitted (skis and snowboards only).
With many ski in/ski out facilities it is easy to get around the alpine village on foot. If self driving you can park your car down the bottom of the mountain and take an oversnow transfer up to your accommodation. Falls Creek has two dedicated Village Shuttles which run daily from 8am-5.30pm all ski season. Most accommodation options are within easy walking distance to a shuttle stop, and at most there is a 35mins wait between shuttle loops.
