If you are like us, annual leave is golden, and you want to make sure you use it wisely, it’s all about maximum powder for minimal leave days. Here is our guide to making the most of your annual leave days skiing Canada.
Take These Dates Off: 24 January – 1 February 2026
If you are feeling spontaneous, it’s not too late to start planning now! If you take off 24 January – 1 February 2026, you only need to use 4 annual leave days, (27 -30 January) and you get 9 days off. Almost every ski resort in Canada would be awesome over this time. But since its last minute, SilverStar, Panorama, Revelstoke, Jasper, or Banff because you can still get availability and prices aren’t too crazy for an impromptu ski-cation. However, there is still great availability for Canada’s biggest ski resort, Whistler Blackcomb. Located only a 1.5hr drive to the mountain from Vancouver airport, means you can maximize your time on the slopes, rather than in transit.
Take These Dates Off: 28 March – 12 April 2026
How does a 16 day ski holiday sound? Your holiday dates will be 28 March – 12 April 2026. If you take off 30 March – 2 April 2026 it would provide you with a well-deserved break (16 days off for 8 annual leave days.) Now you might be thinking, where can I ski in April? This is where Banff & Lake Louise enters the chat! Home to the longest ski season in Canada, lifts are still turning in April. Beat the heat, and spend your Easter break getting in some turns. Marmot Basin is another fantastic option for spring skiing, with a ski season that runs from late November to the end of May. It’s only a short drive from the picture perfect town of Jasper, which is located in the Canadian Rockies.
Take These Days Off: 19 December 2026 – 02 January 2027
Craving something more festive? Let’s move along, take 19 December 2026 – 03 January 2027 and you get 16 days off for 7 days of leave! You deserve it, you work so hard! We recommend getting in early to secure a ski holiday in Sun Peaks, where Christmas and New Years travel dates get snapped up quick. Alternatively, why not spend a white Christmas in Whistler? It’s a destination that turns into a complete winter wonderland, that is a feast for your eyes. Rates for the 2026/27 season are slowly starting to be released for some of your fave ski resorts.
