When is the best time to book?

Sun Peaks is a popular destination, and attracts a high level or “return travellers” – people who come back annually and stay in the same room or condo every year, this means that booking early is important, especially over peak dates. Early bookers also enjoy awesome discounts!

On a budget? If you are on a budget avoiding public holidays like Christmas and New Year’s, as well as local holidays like Family Day and Presidents weekend, can help you get the best deal. Travelling February to March and even through to early April (depending on snow conditions) is usually the best for savvy, price-conscious travellers!

If you do want to enjoy a White Christmas in Sun Peaks, start planning at least 12 months prior to ensure you get your preferred availability for this peak period.

Marty’s tip: “Sun Peaks fills up quickly! Rates for Sun Peaks are usually released in April for the next season, we always recommend our clients jump on the Sun Peaks waitlist to ensure we can hold rooms as soon as they are released.”

There is something for every skier and snowboarder at Sun Peaks…

Holding the title of the second biggest ski area in Canada, Sun Peaks offers 4,270 acres of Canadian pow. The resort has a great spilt of terrain to suit beginners, intermediate and advanced riders, with a terrain park boasting over 45 features, long groomers, moguls and snow filled tree areas. Skiers and snowboarders will not only be able to find challenging terrain, but enough versatile terrain that will have them skiing from first chair to last!

Sun Peaks offers some awesome experiences including Sun Host Mountain Tours, which are a great way for first-timers to get their ski bearings on the mountain. These tours are hosted by locals of Sun Peaks, so you are sure to be shown hidden gems that not as many riders have uncovered.

Sam’s tip: “If you are a beginner or looking for a chill cruisy run, the Five Mile run is wide and easy. In case the name didn’t give it away – it’s five miles long if you start at the top of the Crystal Chair and offers sensational views. Also, the Sundance Express Chair has the easier blue runs compared to the Sunburst Express, so start your day with some warm-up laps on the easier slopes and get those muscles moving.”
