Zermatt is a car-free resort. Access for private transport is only allowed as far as Täsch (5km from Zermatt). The road from Täsch to Zermatt is not open to public transport. There are open-air public car parks (1,800 spaces) and covered private car parks (1,300 spaces) in Täsch. The covered car parks also have outside parking spaces and operate a taxi service to and from Zermatt. Shuttle trains operated by the BVZ Zermatt Railway also run every 20 minutes. 

There is a car park with free parking for 100 cars in Visp (27km from Zermatt) for people travelling by train from here to Zermatt. On your arrival in Zermatt you will then be met with our horse drawn carriage or electrotaxi will escort you to the hotel.
