Sun Peaks Overview
Located in the heart of beautiful British Columbia, Sun Peaks is a short 45-minute transfer from Kamloops airport. Approaching the resort, the landscape drastically changes from an arid desert landscape, to the lush, pine forests of this spectacular alpine bear country. The location cultivates unique weather patterns which deliver dry powder snow to Sun Peaks Resort. The average winter temperature hovers around -5C, meaning the snow is unlikely to melt and refreeze, leaving you with a delightful light, dry snowpack. Sun Peaks boasts the most sunny days per year of any ski resort in British Columbia, meaning you can just about bank on getting those perfect blue bird ski days in!
Sun Peaks was a purpose designed ski resort, modelled off ideal European ski resort characteristics. Sun Peaks boasts ski in ski out accommodation and a pedestrian only village which is sun drenched by day and fairy lit by night. With the village tucked safely in the valley, it is almost completely surrounded by ski resort. Sun Peaks boasts a mix of terrain for all abilities, cruisers and groomers, the steep and deep, glade trees and powder stashes. Sun Peaks is the resort you wish you found years ago.
