How To Make The Most Of Your Annual Leave Skiing Canada

If you are like us, annual leave is golden, and you’ll want to make everyday count! The key to stretching your annual leave is by combining it with public holidays, it’s all about maximum powder for minimal leave days.

Here is our guide to making the most of your annual leave days for a ski trip to Canada.

January Skiing

Take off 25 January – 29 January 2027 for a 9 Day Ski Holiday

If you are feeling spontaneous, it’s not too late to start planning now! If you take off 25 January – 29 January 2027, you only need to use 4 annual leave days, you get 9 days off, 23 January – 31 January 2027. To be honest, we think any ski resort in Canada would be awesome over this time. But since its last minute we recommend, SilverStar, Panorama, Revelstoke, Jasper, or Banff because you can still get availability and prices aren’t too crazy for an impromptu ski-cation.

If you are dreaming of a Whistler ski holiday, you're in luck. There is still last minute availability at Canada's largest ski resort. With Vancouver Airport around a 90-minute drive from Whistler, getting from plane to powder is quick and easy. This means you can maximize your time on the slopes, rather than in transit.

March and April Leave

Take off 31 March – 2 April 2027 for a 10 Day Ski Holiday

How does a 10 day ski holiday sound? Your holiday dates will be 26 March – 6 April 2026. If you take off 30 March – 2 April 2027 it would provide you with a well-deserved break (10 days off for 4 annual leave days.) Are you wondering where you can ski in April, in Canada? This is where Banff & Lake Louise enters the chat. Home to the longest ski season in Canada, lifts are still turning in April. Swap your regular Easter plans for fresh mountain air, bluebird ski days, and plenty of time on the slopes.

Marmot Basin is another fantastic option for spring skiing in Canada, with a ski season that runs from late November through to the end of May. It’s only a short drive from the picture-perfect town of Jasper, located in the pristine Canadian Rockies.

Christmas Holidays

Take off 29 December – 31 December for a 16 Day Ski Holiday

Dreaming of a white Christmas? Take 24 December 2027 – 9 January 2028 and you get 16 days off for 7 days of leave. You deserve it, you’ve worked so hard this year! Popular destinations like Sun Peaks fill up fast over Christmas and New Year, thanks to their festive atmosphere and incredible snow conditions. Or, for the ultimate white Christmas, head to Whistler, where snow-covered streets, twinkling lights and alpine scenery transform the resort into a true winter wonderland.
