Our Accommodation tips for Hakuba
With an incredible selection of accommodation to choose from in Hakuba, there is a property to suit every style of ski holiday. From Hakuba’s hostel and backpacker accommodation for budget conscious skiers, a variety of hotels and resort for couples and families, and then self-contained apartments or Hakuba houses for those that like to be able to cook when they travel. For luxury ski holidays, Hakuba has a selection of chalets, luxury apartment and houses that offer the 5 star ski experience.
A Hakuba Valley has 10 ski resorts on one the one lift pass, these ski resorts are all accessible via a shuttle service and some are within walking distance of popular Hakuba hotels and accommodation. Hakuba does also have the option of ski in, ski out accommodation on some of it’s ski resorts.
The most popular areas to stay in Hakuba are Happo, Wadano and Echoland, recently Goryu is also becoming well known for Aussie skiers and snowboarders. Echoland is a larger village with lots of accommodation options, the main street has great nightlife and restaurants for visitors. Echoland is popular with young people who want to be able to walk home after a night out! Wadano is a beautiful forest area walking distance to the Sakka ski lifts and central Hakuba. A slightly quieter area with some stunning alpine chalets and houses, as well as popular hotels such as Hakuba Mominoki Hotel. Happo is family friendly, has lots of restaurants, a variety of accommodation styles and many hotels are walking distance to the Happo-One Gondola. The area is quite westernized, so good for first time travellers.
