Our Accommodation tips for Whistler
Whistler is made up of two world-class ski resorts; Whistler and Whistler Blackcomb. This thriving winter hotspot is divided into three main neighbourhoods; Upper Village, Creekside and Whistler Village. Each location can provide a unique holiday experience, but all three are located with lifts or gondolas readily available and easy to access.
Upper Village or Benchlands is home to some of the best luxury accommodation in Whistler, Fairmont Chateau and the Four Seasons are both found in this part of town. The area is also popular for families, with a great selection of townhouses and condominiums available that offer extra space. You will find high-end shopping, boutiques and upmarket restaurants scattered throughout the neighbourhood. People that choose to stay in Upper Village are easily able to access the Wizard Express up Blackcomb mountain.
Considered the centre of the action, Whistler Village is a dynamic and lively place to stay with a range of accommodation options, from budget-friendly through to luxury hotels. This area provides easy access to nightlife, restaurants and activities; with almost everything you need within a few minutes’ walk of your hotel. The village is also a great option for skiers and snowboarders that prefer ski in, ski out accommodation such as Hilton Whistler, Crystal Lodge, The Westin or Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside.
Creekside was the original hub of Whistler, nowadays it’s a bit quieter and the main centre of town has moved as Whistler has expanded in popularity. Creekside is a great spot for those would prefer to be a little further away from the hustle and bustle of Whistler Village, ideally suited to visitors that plan on self-catering, however dining options & nightlife are only a short cab or bus ride away. Creekside is also well positioned for avid skiers and snowboarders that want to spend most of their time on the slopes.
Whistler offer a large choice of self-contained accommodation options, condos and townhouses – which makes it a great destination for family ski holidays or groups travelling together. For budget conscious travellers, look a little further from the lifts for a better deal and travel outside of peak dates such as Christmas and New Years Eve.
