Our Accommodation tips for Shiga Kogen

Shiga Kogen offers a great selection of ski in ski out accommodation with easy access to its 19 ski areas and 600 hectares of terrain. Most accommodation options in the area are hotel style properties or small more traditional properties, Shiga Kogen doesn’t offer a large amount of self-contained accommodation. As the ski resort is very spread out, there are a few small villages to stay, most international visitors choose hotels close to the Okushiga Kogen ski area, Yakebitaiyama Ski Area or in Ichinose.

While the ski slopes are well interlinked with lifts and gondola’s and it is easy to ski and snowboard around during the day, it is a little tougher at night. There are shuttles which operate during the day until early evening, so it is important to plan to get home when venturing out at night. Often visitors enjoy meals and relaxation time close to their hotel and therefore choosing a property with easy access to facilities like lifts and dining options is important.
