The views of Lake Tahoe from the slopes are magic, and the contrast between water and desert also make for a unique visual experience.
Where to Stay
Visitors can stay in Nevada or California for great access to Heavenly Mountain Resort, and each offers its own unique experience. The Nevada side boasts some condos and some economical Casino hotels, while California accommodation is more upmarket Hotels with some condo options.
For Nevada side, we love the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort and the Edgewood Tahoe Resort.
Skiing Heavenly
With 4,800 acres of terrain to explore and over 97 runs, Heavenly has plenty of space to explore! Spread across the two states, there are plenty of opportunities for tree skiing when the snow is good and two canyon areas as well of a few great chutes and a bowl. Heavenly is an awesome ski resort for intermediate riders.
Heavenly Mountain Resorts lifts are modern and fast, there are seven express quads, two 6-packs and a gondola & tramway to get you around the mountain.
Heavenly Mountain Resort is part of Epic Pass.
Getting around Heavenly
Heavenly Resort has four base areas, but the main place for tourists is Heavenly Village, which is located in South Lake Tahoe, but only a few minutes’ walk away from Stateline Nevada. From Heavenly Village there is a highspeed Gondola that will transport you to the ski slopes.
On Cali side you will also find the California Lodge Base while on the Nevada side, Stagecoach Lodge Base & Boulder Lodge Base. Buses do run on the Nevada side to connect the two areas.
How to get to Heavenly
From Australia, there are lots of different entry points into the US depending on your itninerary. Located approximately 1 hours drive from Reno Airport, visitors can choose a hire car or to use one of the shuttle services to get them to Heavenly Mountain Resort. Some visitors also choose to drive from San Francisco airport, which takes about 5 hours.
Things to do in Winter in Heavenly
While Skiing and snowboarding are the main winter attraction, there are other fun things to do during winter at Heavenly Mountain Resort! Try snowmobiling, horse-drawn sleigh rides, tubing, snowshoeing, ice skating or jump in a helicopter for a scenic flight. Heavenly also has a lively après ski scene, between the casinos & bars, there is something to suit most people’s taste. For relaxation head to the spa or browse the shops.
